Samples of IPR copyright notices

The followings are samples of copyright notices that are sent out by most film and TV copyright holders regarding the copyright ownership,authorization and other information to the applicable organizations.

“Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” produced by the 20TH CENTURYFOX was publicly released globally from September 22, 2010 and would be on show in China around October 15, 2010. The film’s theater distribution rights in China had been licensed to Huaxia Film Distribution Co., Ltd. and the network dissemination of the film was not authorized to any unit or individual.

“Wall street: Money Never Sleep”

On October 13, 2010, the Motion Picture Association of America Beijing Office presented the Copyright Union the commissioned announcement letter for the notices on the "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" produced by the 20TH CENTURY-FOX.

On the day of receipt of the letter of authorization, SIPRES (along with the Copyright Union) posted the notice on the website of (www.iscu.cn) and also sent out e-mail notices to all major Internet video content providers. For this effort, the Chinese Internet video content providers were able to implement the appropriate anti-piracy measures to safeguard the film owner’s copyrights as well as the theater’s distribution right. Further checking on the day when the report was released, it was reported that no full length play or download of the film was found on the Internet in China.

4. Types of copyright notices

(1) Notice on copyrights ownership or authorized units: The IPR holder hereby authorizes one or more works to the copyright agents via the producer for distribution license or platform operation.

(2) Notice on unauthorized works: The IPR holder expressly clarifies that in a certain period, no Internet authorization is granted for certain districts.

(3) Notice on authorization termination: The IPR holder recalls fully or partially the authorization in line with laws and regulations or authorization agreement.

5. Notice on promotion channels

(1) SIPRES sends out notices to over 100 Internet organizations which are equivalent to 70% of the total market size in China. (See Folder 2)

(2) Notices are also sent out the respective Internet association in 30 provinces in China. Altogether, these notices will be posted on more than 10,000 websites.

(3) Releasing news through four major Chinese web portals: Sina, Tencent, Sohu, and Netease and other large news medias.

4. Obligations required to Noticers

(1) Notice party shall issue a written letter of authorization to SIPRES and declare the truthfulness of the notice contents.

(2) Notice party shall provide a written letter of notice to SIPRES.
